Website design and code for Geoff Levy. Based in Brooklyn, he has made films in Spanish, Portuguese, and French. His work aims to bridge art with commerce while elevating platforms of causes and cultures.

The way we’ve approached the typographic system is also quite simple. Two types, with only one type size for each.

The boldness of SanBleu King to display the titles, and GT America for the interface, assembled in an objective way, in order not to distract people from the content.

Project information

With a split-screen layout, we aimed for a solution that displayed both photo and video work, as even tiers, while also giving both mediums attention to their idiosyncrasies.

With this structure, we also intended to create a pattern, which could be used throughout the site, photos on the left, videos on the right. As seen in the menu and the titles.

The art direction aimed to bring the granularity from film and photography to the visuals, bringing an analog touch to it. On the HP, for example, there is a subtle animated texture in the backgound. By the way, if you press the GSL and hold it, it’s possible to play with the texture.

The title as the guiding element from the transition between the home page and the project page, once inside the project page, the title gains an extra function, it also functions as a progress bar as the user explores the page, indicating its length.

To keep the interface clean, we’ve also used the mouse pointer as a temporary communication element, for example, when it becomes an alert, in the transition between projects.

While the home page focuses on showing less, to allow users to focus on the content; the grid view does just the opposite, it gives users greater vision, so that they can view all projects at once, with the ability to filter content by photo or film.
